North and north-west of Magdeburg, the logistics locations of the Börde district lie between the A2, the A14 and the Mittelland Canal. Barleben benefits from proximity to the Magdeburg interchange, Haldensleben is an e-commerce focus with large mail-order centres, and Wolmirstedt sits on the new A14 heading north.
Location and access
Barleben lies directly on the A2 near the Magdeburg interchange, and Wolmirstedt on the northern A14 extension, which is open as far as Stendal. Haldensleben is about 30 kilometres north-west of Magdeburg on the Mittelland Canal, with the A2 and A14 each around 16 kilometres away. Haldensleben's Südhafen allows handling between ship, rail and truck.

Large mail-order and fulfilment centres in Haldensleben and modern distribution buildings on the A2 in Barleben shape the submarket. Technologiepark Ostfalen combines business, production and technology. Further sites are available in Wolmirstedt and Haldensleben, and Haldensleben is planning additional land in its new land-use plan.
What occupiers should consider
For national distribution, locations directly on the A2 have the edge, while Haldensleben offers land and water access but is further from the motorway. The A14 link from Wolmirstedt to the Magdeburg interchange is not yet complete. For large projects, check water and power supply early.
