Submarket of the logistics region Bremen
GVZ Bremen
The Bremen freight village (Güterverkehrszentrum, GVZ) has long been among Germany's leading freight villages. More than a hundred forwarding, logistics and trading companies operate on around 200 hectares, with access to road, rail and the Neustädter Hafen port.
Location and access
The GVZ lies in the south of Bremen between the Weser and the A1. The A281 connects it directly to the A1 and, once the Weser tunnel is complete, to the northern districts. The Roland-Umschlag terminal links the site by rail with the seaports and the hinterland.
Space profile
The location is largely occupied. Supply mainly arises when occupiers move or existing buildings are modernised. Space in Stuhr, Brinkum and Delmenhorst, with similarly good access to the A1 and A28, is a useful complement.
What occupiers should consider
Searching in the GVZ takes patience and good relationships with owners and existing occupiers, as space is often re-let without public marketing. For seaport traffic, coordination with the terminal and port is worth considering.
