Planning and permits

24/7 operation

Permission to operate around the clock on every day.

Many logistics models depend on night operation. Whether it is permitted depends on the zone category, distance to housing and noise assessments under TA Lärm. Conditions can restrict door layout, yard use or vehicle numbers.

Immission guide values

The German noise regulation TA Lärm sets guide values at the relevant immission point, separately for day and night. At night, the loudest hour between 10 pm and 6 am applies, which is often the critical figure for logistics with truck traffic, manoeuvring and refrigeration units. The closer housing is, the tighter the margin.

Measures

Noise barriers, enclosed docking zones, doors on the side facing away from housing, restrictions on certain yard areas and quiet refrigeration technology can make night operations possible. The basis is a noise assessment submitted in the permit procedure.

Typical values

Commercial area
day 65, night 50 dB(A)
Mixed area
day 60, night 45 dB(A)
General residential area
day 55, night 40 dB(A)

Typical specifications for guidance. Use, permits and expert reports decide in each case.
