Submarket of the logistics region Ruhr

Kamen interchange

At the Kamen interchange the A1 and A2, two of Germany's busiest motorways, meet. Kamen, Bönen, Unna and Hamm have become one of North Rhine-Westphalia's densest logistics clusters, with short distances to the Ruhr, Westphalia and the Benelux.

Location and access

The Kamen interchange links the A1 (Cologne–Bremen) with the A2 (Oberhausen–Berlin), the Unna interchange connects the A1 with the A44 towards Kassel. The Hamm container terminal and the Datteln-Hamm Canal add rail and waterway.

Space profile

Around the interchange there are many large, modern logistics parks, often let before completion, many built on former colliery and industrial land. There is also stock from the 1990s and 2000s suitable for modernisation.

What occupiers should consider

New space now almost only emerges on brownfield land, which takes planning and remediation time. Occupiers needing space at short notice should consider existing buildings and sublet space. Competition for staff in the cluster is noticeable.
