Energy and ESG

ESG

Environmental, Social, Governance: criteria for sustainable business and investment.

For logistics property this covers energy use, emissions, land use, working conditions and transparent management. Regulation such as the EU taxonomy and SFDR makes ESG data mandatory for investors.

Environmental

For logistics property, the focus is on energy consumption, operational emissions, embodied carbon of the structure, land take, biodiversity and water. Photovoltaics, heat pumps, LED lighting, greening and brownfield sites improve the balance.

Social and governance

The social dimension includes working conditions, daylight, welfare facilities, public transport access and compatibility with neighbours. Governance covers transparent data collection, green lease clauses, compliance and AML-compliant transaction processes. Investors report on these factors under the SFDR and increasingly under the CSRD.
