Submarket of the logistics region Leipzig/Halle
Leipzig / Schkeuditz
Between Leipzig and Halle lies one of Germany's most dynamic logistics locations. Leipzig/Halle Airport with DHL Express's largest global hub, the Leipzig freight village and the Schkeuditz interchange make it equally attractive for express, retail and industry.
Location and access
The Schkeuditz interchange links the A9 Berlin–Munich with the A14 towards Magdeburg and Dresden, and the A38 rings Leipzig to the south. Leipzig/Halle Airport has a night-flight permit and is the largest of DHL Express's three global hubs. Rail and combined transport complete the connections.
Space profile
Large distribution and production sites have emerged around the airport and freight village, many within the last 15 years. The automotive industry in north Leipzig drives demand for supplier and production logistics. New land has become scarcer.
What occupiers should consider
For express and air cargo, proximity to the apron matters. Round-the-clock operations should check permitted hours and noise conditions carefully. For large requirements, Halle and the Saalekreis are worth considering as alternatives.
