Submarket of the logistics region Frankfurt/Rhine-Main

Hanau / Erlensee

East of Frankfurt, one of Rhine-Main's major logistics clusters has developed around Hanau, Erlensee and Langenselbold. Former barracks and military land have become modern logistics locations on the A45 and A66.

Location and access

The A66 links the submarket with Frankfurt and Fulda, the A45 with Gießen and Aschaffenburg. The Hanau port on the Main enables inland waterway and rail traffic, and Frankfurt Airport is about half an hour away.

Space profile

Large logistics parks have been developed on former military land in Erlensee and Hanau. In Hanau, industry, chemicals and the port dominate, while Langenselbold and Maintal have distribution centres and business buildings.

What occupiers should consider

The east is one of the most important alternatives to the tight airport area, though vacant space is in demand here too. Occupiers supplying Rhine-Main and eastern Hesse at the same time find a good location here.

Frequently asked questions

Why is Hanau interesting for logistics?
Because of its position on the A45 and A66, the Main port and the large logistics parks on former military land.
Is eastern Rhine-Main an alternative to the airport?
For many requirements, yes. Supply is often larger and driving time to Frankfurt stays short.
