EV charging for trucks and fleets
Charging points for electric trucks, vans and cars.
As fleets electrify, yard charging becomes part of the property. It requires capacity, cable routes, parking space and an operating concept. Fast charging for trucks places heavy demands on the grid connection.
Charging capacities
Overnight depot charging usually uses DC charging of around 50 to 150 kW per point. Opportunity charging during loading requires higher outputs. The Megawatt Charging System for heavy trucks enables outputs in the megawatt range and places corresponding demands on the transformer and grid connection.
Site planning
Chargers at docks use dwell times, chargers in parking areas use overnight periods. Ducts, space for transformers and charging equipment, impact protection and load management to limit peaks are needed. The lease should clarify who invests, who owns the infrastructure and how electricity is billed.
