Uses and logistics models
Production building
A hall for manufacturing, assembly or processing.
Production has different requirements from storage: higher floor loads, crane rails, compressed air, ventilation, utilities and more power. Permits and emission control are often more demanding.
Technical requirements
Depending on the sector, production buildings need higher floor loads, machine foundations, crane rails, compressed air, process water, exhaust air, noise protection and considerably more electrical capacity than warehouses. Workstations with daylight and welfare facilities for shift work are also needed.
Permits
Whether production is permitted depends on the zoning category, emissions and possibly a permit under the Federal Immission Control Act. On a change of occupier, it must be checked whether the existing permit covers the new production.
